The Pouring out of PEACE

Oh what a peace you’ve given me A wonderful son you’re making me I will rise from this grief I’ll stand in victory

Oh this peace intensified As a Son I will now rise Here I stand absolutely free Never again will a chain bound me

Peace beyond understanding is beyond the capacity of the flesh. It is beyond the desire of reason. It is an intimate relationship with the Father where the weight of influence is in His faithfulness to be good. A place where the desire for the transformed man becomes action and offense has no impact, authority or leverage. If we allow offense than we long for something other than correction. Offense comes only when pride has influence and If pride has influence than it has yet to be crucified. When our desire is in us only responding well when we are approached “correctly” than our flesh being glory holds more weight than being the Sons of God. We are essentially only a child of the Father. Others must grow and mature, being manifested in love, communicating without fault so that our response can be one of reception. This is the way a child reasons.

In order to see the true nature of the Father and be established and made perfect in His love, we must be separated from the world. This isn’t to say that the Father is limited, because He is all powerful and mighty and can do as He pleases, just as He did with Saul, however, it wasn’t until Saul became Paul that the true nature of the Father was reveled to him. Because the true nature of the Father is to take a Saul and transform him into Paul. For He makes ALL THINGS new. This morning and through the night the Father recalled the song He had given me and added and changed some of the words. Where as I lay, I couldn’t help but be completely encompassed by His peace. A peace that in the natural shouldn’t be present, but the Spirit will lead us to a deeper part of the Kingdom, as we shed our flesh, we become the new man. Where the Spirit realm is our home, it is here the Father uses us to establish Heaven on Earth. Heaven on Earth cannot come from the workings of flesh. Nothing we can do out of our own might will ever bring about the Kingdom of God. It is only through surrender. It is only where every thought is in accordance with the King, where all thoughts and actions are the things we have heard the Father say and have seen the Father do.

One reason we are not producing the nature that Jesus encompassed is we have yet to see the Father’s face and have yet to hear His voice. For when we see His face and hear His voice and heed it, we will then do what the Father has done and say what the Father has said. Too often we try and mix the flesh with the Spirit, but they war against each other and can never walk in union.

Man of Flesh

I believe I have said it before that I love the morning. Just something about being up while it is still dark and seeing the peaking of light. Especially, having a view of Pikes Peak, it’s absolutely phenomenal. I also know this won’t always be my view and I really want to soak it up and have it etched into my memory.

But this morning, and throughout most of the night, I couldn’t help but realize how often I speak about the flesh. This is because the Spirit is dealing with me in this area. The moment I believe I have made strides, I see how far I have yet to go. Here lately it has been evident with the many challenges that I have faced.

Have you ever just felt like it is one thing after another? Perhaps you set a budget to get out of debt or to accomplish something, and then like clockwork, one thing after another happens. Or you decide, to really let go of material possessions that have just cluttered your life, taking up a lot time to maintain. Yet, it seems like you can’t carve out time to do what you know needs to be done. There will always be resistance when crucifying the flesh, there will always be resistance when your prayer is “Thy Kingdom come”. Before the fall of man our nature was that which was reflective of the glory of God. Until we put to death ALL flesh, we are operating in the nature of the fallen man, sin becomes our king. Our first response will be that of flesh, not of the Spirit. How then do we move forward having the nature of the fallen man?

“For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.” If it were impossible to put to death the man of flesh, why then does Paul urge us to do so? If we were confined to live life as a slave to sin, then why does Paul lay out hope of the perfected man? With the filling of the Holy Spirit we are then of no excuse to continue walking in the workings of the flesh, this merely means that the Spirit has no work in us.

Once we realize that we are no longer slaves, it is then we can move towards accepting our freedom and not willingly (whether unconscious or not) go back into bondage. This message is for me most all. To finally stop the cycle of continual bondage I find myself in, not because of the enemy but because of flesh. It is a conscious decision to follow the Spirit instead of bowing down to the things which exalt themselves against the Lord.

Flesh V. Spirit

“I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these things are contrary to one another, So that you do not do the things you wish.”

-Galatians 5:16&17

If we count this word to be true, then we are forced to realized that many of the problems we face, have nothing to do with a trial nor an attack, but in fact come from a simple result of sowing into the flesh. Paul tells us that the works of the flesh are EVIDENT, we also know that this isn’t an exhaustive list as he finishes with “and the like”. Thankfully, “those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.” But Paul also gives us this call to action, “If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.” We cannot walk in both the flesh and the Spirit simultaneously, they war against one another.

I strongly suggest that so much of walking in the Spirit comes down to a choice. A choice in the moment to reframe from walking in the flesh by doing the antithesis in the Spirit. When we become angry and frustrated with those around us, to respond in love and long suffering. Why would we do this? Paul tells us, “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.”

Have you ever noticed how quickly this takes root in parenting? Yes, children can pick up certain attributes and phases from school or friends, BUT, for the most part the works of the flesh our children act out, is a result of what they have watched their parents model. How often do we as parents ask our children to not… yell, responded with an attitude, be selfish, constantly fight with their siblings? Yet, how many parents do you know, yell at their spouse, respond rudely, are selfish in their desires, speak with a foul mouth, and constantly bicker?

Our focus must than become walking in the Spirit. We will then sow… love, joy , peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Reaping Everlasting life. As it can be painful at times to part with our flesh, it goes against the nature of the old man, it takes all we have and much more of the faithfulness of the Father to break the bonds of flesh that are prevalent in our lives, we can remain encouraged.

“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” Galatians 6:9

What Peace!

Peace beyond understanding comes from releasing all things unto the Father. Choosing in the most difficult of times to not search out reasoning with a carnal mind, to not plant seeds of flesh despite the temptation. When we chose to not allow the cares of the world to become our bondage, the Father is able to take us to a place inside the Kingdom deeper than our own understanding. The things of the flesh can never satisfy the Sons of God, the words of the world do not tickle their ears, for they have heard the truth of the Father. For in times of trouble, faith is not believing God will get you through, even people who have shunned the Lord know that a storm has an end. Faith in times of trouble, is submitting to the will of the Father with a heart of rejoicing KNOWING that the Father is for you, His love for you is beyond your understanding of love. The natural does not dictate a response because faith lies in accordance to the Fathers will.

Spirit Express

So much of my break through has been a direct correlation in my ability to be honest in an environment that would cultivate revelation. The expression of the Spirit has been revealed to me in the quiet of everyday life when the value I placed on His presence exceeded every other desire I possessed. The Kingdom of God is so valuable because you are forever connected to the FATHER. His presence always accompanies because you journey the path He created, completing the works He predestined, your “everyday life” is to be about your Father’s business. You are able to operate from a culture of respect and honor for all those around you because you encompass the spirit of reconciliation. There are no ulterior motives because you have become completely surrendered to the Father, the Holy Spirit has begun a process of freedom, and with each release of bondage there is an advancement into the Kingdom. You grow deeper in connection with the presence of the Father, the Son, and the Spirit. The Kingdom of God is the presence of The Father in which He has all authority.
